Volume & Lift
All new clients require a complementary consultation prior to treatment
As we age, several changes occur in the structures of the face due to a combination of factors such as genetics, lifestyle, and environmental influences. Here are some common changes:
- Fat Redistribution: Fat compartments in the face shift and diminish with age. Fat pads that once provided youthful fullness may descend or diminish, leading to hollowing under the eyes, cheeks, and temples, while fat accumulates in other areas such as the jowls.
- Bone Resorption: The bones of the face undergo subtle changes over time, with bone density decreasing and bone resorption occurring. This can lead to a loss of facial volume and changes in facial contours.
- Muscle Tone: Facial muscles weaken and lose tone with age. This can contribute to drooping eyelids, a less defined jawline, and reduced overall facial firmness.
The overall shape of the face may change, with a loss of the once-triangular youthful appearance. The lower face may appear fuller due to sagging skin and fat accumulation, while the upper face may appear more gaunt.
Common areas treated include:
Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
Marionette lines (lines that run from the corners of the mouth to the chin)
Lip lines (vertical lines above the upper lip)
Cheeks (to restore volume and lift)
Under-eye hollows (tear troughs)
Lips (to enhance volume and definition)
The primary ingredient used in these treatments is a naturally occurring substance found in the skin that helps maintain hydration and volume. The products we use are high quality products that attract water molecules, adding volume and cushioning to the treated areas.
Other products we can use come under the umbrella of regenerative medicine as they may contain synthetic materials such as calcium hydroxylapatite or poly-L-lactic acid, which stimulate collagen production and provide longer-lasting results.
All volume and lift treatments should be administered by a trained healthcare professional, such as a cosmetic nurse. The procedure is relatively quick and minimally invasive, with little to no downtime.
Results are immediate and can last anywhere from several months to over a year, depending on the chosen product used and the area treated. Over time, the body gradually breaks down the material, and touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired results.
